St Lucia Kayak Safari

For the enthusiastic adventurer a half day St Lucia Kayak Safari along the St Lucia Estuary amongst the Hipos and Crocs. Not for the faint hearted. For this flat-water trip, you will be escorted by qualified kayak guides in stable Kayan Kayaks. Snacks and refreshments are also supplied.

The St Lucia Kayak Safari departs early morning at the slip way close to the St Lucia Estuary mouth, a 5 minute drive from Zulani Guest House. The tour progresses up stream towards Honeymoon Bend, the mangrove swamp forest, quiet backwaters of the St Lucia Estuary and then onward to the St Lucia bridge. Here under the shadow of the bridge, you will land and enjoy well-deserved refreshments and snacks. When energy reserves have been restored the kayak begins back to the launch site.

Along the route your guide will discuss the St Lucia Estuary Eco System and point out the places and things of interest. Mudskippers, fiddler crabs, whelks, fossil oyster beds, Hippos, Crocs and a variety of water birds are all part of the St Lucia Kayak Safari experience.

It is advisable to bring a towel along and to ensure you have adequate sun block on you skin, lips and especially the top of your feet before you set out.
